Main attractions

Saschiz is located at the foot of some forested hills in the southeast part of the Târnavelor Plateau, 19 km from Sighisoara and 95 km from Brasov. Saschiz has been documented since 1308-1310.

fortified Evangelical Church

built between 1493-1525, together with its tower, which resembles the clock tower in Sighisoara;

14th-15th century Saxon refuge fortress

that also guards the commune. 

Both landmarks are part of Unesco heritage.
